What is Dudeism?

Dudeism is a modern, tongue-in-cheek religion inspired by the character Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski from the 1998 film “The Big Lebowski”, directed by the Coen brothers. Officially known as The Church of the Latter-Day Dude, Dudeism promotes a laid-back, relaxed approach to life, emphasizing principles such as going with the flow, taking it easy, and living in the moment. It combines elements of Taoism, Zen Buddhism, and American Transcendentalism, encouraging followers to reject societal pressures and stress. The movement, while humorous and light-hearted, aims to spread a message of peace, happiness, and a simple, stress-free lifestyle.

We aren't trying to scam anyone, we're just trying to tie a community together for all those who don't have a community due to lack of belief. We don't need to meet every Sunday, but it might be cool to have some meetups over a cup of coffee or somewhere to throw back a few oat sodas.

If you're laid-back and want to meet other laid-back folks just trying to get by, look us up on Facebook. We have a couple ways to engage… a page (if you're just wanting to see goofy memes, interesting articles, info about meetups, etc; and a group (if you're more interested in more interaction, sharing memes and stories, etc.

We don't have a building, we are just trying to create a low key community that can help out where we can, be there for each other, and others in need as we're able. We can't change the world, but we can be nicer and more helpful.

That's about us in the ol proverbial nutshell. Maybe we'll see you around.

That old Dude,

Matt
